Adapting to a New Culture While Studying Abroad

Moving abroad to study is an exciting prospect that is often followed by a little anxiety and uncertainty. Moving across continents, mixing in with other cultures, and learning on an international platform is bound to be different compared to staying in the comfort of my home with my family.

But overall, I’ve realized I have not changed too much; there is no big reveal after the curtain drops. The lives we live or the people we meet might be different, but overall, it’s the same old me, just in a new space. But is that the same for every international student? Probably not.

This experience can be stressful, exhausting, and overwhelming for most. A lot of students end up sticking to their own groups from back home and not mixing in with the cultures around them, thereby not getting any exposure and being unable to build connections within the country.

To avoid this and make the most of it as an international student, here are some factors you should keep in mind and consider when studying abroad.
